Waiming Zhu: Integrated Earth Observation Satellite Scheduling Problems, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

This book offers a comprehensive exploration of Integrated Earth Observation Satellite (EOS) Scheduling, a critical aspect of modern space infrastructure. As the number of satellites in orbit surpasses ten thousand, EOS plays an indispensable role in environmental monitoring, disaster response, and military reconnaissance. However, the challenge extends beyond launching these satellites; effective long-term in-orbit management is crucial for maximizing their utility.

The chapters delve into key concepts such as orbit dynamics, visibility geometry, and the intricacies of scheduling EOS tasks. Readers will encounter operations research-based models and innovative solution methods developed by the authors and their team. From classic scheduling problems to complex integrated scenarios involving target imaging and data transmission, this monograph presents a robust framework for tackling these challenges. The book also highlights future research directions, ensuring its relevance in the rapidly evolving space industry.

Ideal for researchers and engineers in operations research and EOS management, this monograph bridges the gap between theoretical models and practical applications.
