Caring Masculinities, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

How have biblical texts shaped ideas of masculinity - and how might they challenge them today? Bringing biblical studies and critical masculinity research into dialogue, the contributors examine how biblical texts construct, contest, and transform male identities. From Jesus as a caring shepherd and Paul's advocacy for Onesimus to Tertullian's ambivalent theology of the body and queer practices of subversive hospitality, they explore the tensions between care, power, and masculinity. The volume offers fresh perspectives for scholars of theology, biblical and gender studies, as well as practitioners in pastoral care, education, and violence prevention.
